Audience
The training is aimed at beginners without experience who work or will be working in cafe, dining, hotel and nightlife and need a holistic barista training that combines theory and practice. It is suitable for employees, new hires, summer temps and service personnel who want basic expertise in barista work, hygiene, customer care, sales and communication in a busy catering situation.

Learning objectives
Participants will gain broad theoretical insight into hygiene and food safety, internal control, communication, conflict management, customer service and sales, combined with practical barista subjects such as espresso extraction, use of espresso machines and grinders, milk steaming and cleaning. The training provides an understanding of how quality, professionalism and good dialogue with customers contribute to a positive customer experience and safe operation in the catering industry.

After completing the course you will be able to

  • Applying proper hygienic practices and food safety practices in the serving context.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues and handle demanding situations professionally.
  • Operate espresso machine and coffee grinder to make espresso and espresso-based drinks.
  • Steam milk and make classic milk-based coffee varieties in a safe and quality-oriented way.
  • Carry out daily routines behind the coffee shop with a focus on quality, cleanliness and good customer service.

You will also receive a voucher that gives you access to the hands-on training. You yourself are responsible for finding the time and place and enrolling in one of the practical courses. The voucher is valid for one year.
