Audience
The course is aimed at beginners and employees in the hospitality industry who want basic expertise in coffee and espresso brewing. It is suitable for baristas in the start-up phase, cafe employees, entrepreneurs who establish catering establishments, as well as others who want a better understanding of quality, equipment and professional work practices related to coffee.
Learning objectives
Participants will gain a basic theoretical understanding of coffee, espresso brewing and milk processing. They will learn how the espresso machine and grinder work, principles of dose, degree of grinding and extraction, as well as the connection between brewing method and taste. The course also provides insight into milk streaming, simple latte art, hygienic routines and customer focus in a professional serving situation.

This course combines theory and practical exercises in basic barista work. The participant receives practical training in the use of the espresso machine and grinder, as well as practice in espresso extraction and milk steaming. The course provides a solid foundation, but full mastery presupposes further quantity training over time. To ensure a lasting level of skill, the knowledge must be actively used in daily work, and routines must be adapted to the equipment, menus and workflow of the individual dining establishment.
After booking, you will receive a voucher that gives you access to the course. The voucher is valid for one year.

If you choose not to attend courses and only want to take the exam, the exam and certificate must be paid separately. The payment is made directly to the PECB.
