Audience
The course is designed for people who will carry out practical extinguishing exercises as part of training in hot work. It is suitable for tradespeople, contractors, industrial workers, maintenance personnel and others who perform work with elevated fire risk and who need documented practical training in firefighting. The course is relevant for both employees and self-employed persons who must meet requirements for practical extinguishing exercise in connection with certification for hot works.
Learning objectives
Participants will receive practical training in handling fire inflows through realistic VR scenarios. They will learn the correct use of hand capping equipment, understand their own role in fire and develop confidence in the choice of extinguishing agent and method. The course provides increased competence in action, better understanding of risks and strengthened preparedness in case of fire in connection with hot works.

This VR-based extinguishing exercise provides practical training in firefighting and can be used as part of documented hot work extinguishing exercise. The course does not replace the responsibility of companies to assess the need for further practical exercises, physical handling of extinguishing equipment or adaptation to their own risk conditions. For proper training, the exercise must be included in companies' overall preparedness work, routines and any additional requirements for practical training.

PECB courses are conducted in PECB's own learning portal, with presentations, materials for self-study as well as video where available. After payment, you sign up for the course, and receive an email from PECB with registration link, normally within 24 hours of booking.
The price for courses (self-study and e-learning) includes one year of access. During this period, the examination, one new exam if necessary, as well as the issuance of a certificate are included.
If you choose not to attend courses and only want to take the exam, the exam and certificate must be paid separately. The payment is made directly to the PECB.
