Audience
The course is suitable for project managers, consultants, internal or external advisors, IT and security professionals, compliance officers, lawyers or auditors who want to work with privacy and data processing. It is relevant for individuals who hold or will have the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO), or who will participate in the planning, implementation and maintenance of the organization's GDPR compliance and privacy practices.

Learning objectives
Participants will understand the basic concepts, principles and requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). They will learn how GDPR interrelates with other frameworks and standards such as ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 29134. They will gain competence to assess the requirements applicable to their organisation, develop privacy policies, procedures and practical measures for the processing of personal data, establish records for processing, carry out risk assessments and privacy impact assessments (DPIA), and set up technical and organisational measures for secure data processing. They will also learn how to inform, advise, monitor GDPR compliance, deal with data breaches and cooperate with regulatory authorities.

After completing the course you will be able to

• Explain the basic principles and requirements of GDPR and understand the interaction between GDPR and relevant standards.
• Assess the GDPR requirements that apply to your organization and identify the necessary measures.
• Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, records for processing and consent forms.
• Conduct risk assessments and privacy impact assessments (DPIA), and define and implement technical and organizational security measures.
• Supervise the organisation's processing of personal data, provide advice and guidance, and cooperate with supervisory authorities where appropriate.
• Manage data breaches, implement incident management and continuous improvements to the privacy software.
