The collaboration makes WNI's professional expertise accessible to a wider audience through Compend's learning platform, and marks an important step in the development of modern, practice-close expertise in negotiation and conflict management.
WNI helps leaders and teams get more out of negotiations, and to manage disagreement before it develops into conflict. In these digital courses, participants gain increased awareness of how often, and in how many venues, we actually negotiate, a clear structure for preparation, and concrete tools that can be used immediately. Along the way, there are small educational activities that make the content easier to remember and easier to put into practice.
The academic community in WNI is led by Roar Thun Wegger, who is a graduate of Harvard's Program on Negotiation and the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University, and is an internationally accredited mediator. Together with Compend, this competence has now been further developed into digital courses with high academic quality and clear practical relevance.
The first two courses, The Art of Negotiation — Basic Negotiation and Assumptions, dilemmas and strategies for successful negotiations, have already been launched through the collaboration and available to everyone in Compend's platform. Several courses are under production and are being launched on an ongoing basis.
Audun Andreassen of Compend believes that cooperation strengthens the offer to both managers and employees who face negotiations in everyday work.
- WNI represents one of the strongest academic communities within negotiation and conflict management in Norway. Together, we have developed courses that combine solid theory with practical application, and that make it easier for businesses to build real negotiation skills.
Roar Thun Wægger also sees great benefits from the cooperation.
- Compend has a clear understanding of how complex professional knowledge can be made available and relevant digitally. Through this collaboration, we can reach out to more managers and teams, and contribute to better negotiations and fewer destructive conflicts in the workplace.
The collaboration between Compend and WNI provides businesses with access to flexible, up-to-date and research-based expertise in negotiation, facilitating learning that can be immediately put into practice.

All businesses with at least five employees must have a safety representative. But what exactly does a protection officer do, and what are the responsibilities in practice?

Competency development in the enterprise does not have to be complicated. With a good skills plan, you always know who knows what and what is missing.

But the skills pledge is urgent.
