Audience
The course is designed for people who will audit, lead or participate in audits of occupational health and safety management systems. It is suitable for internal or external auditors, HSE managers, consultants, compliance officers, advisors, certification organizations and technical experts who want to maintain or assess HSE management systems in accordance with ISO 45001.
Learning objectives
The participant will gain a thorough understanding of the principles and concepts of an OSH management system (OH&S MS) under ISO 45001. The course provides insight into the requirements set by the standard, how these are interpreted from an auditor's point of view, and how to plan, conduct and conclude an audit in accordance with the Audit Guidelines (ISO 19011) and certification processes (ISO/IEC 17021‑1).
After completing the course you will be able to
- Explain the concepts and principles underlying an HSE management system based on ISO 45001
- Interpret and assess organisations' HSE management system against ISO 45001 requirements
- Planning, conducting and concluding an audit according to ISO 45001 with the correct use of audit methodology
- Lead or participate in audit teams and coordinate audit activities
- Conduct document review, interviews, observation, documentation and reporting of findings and discrepancies
- Prepare audit reports and recommendations for improvement
- Manage and lead an audit program
